Acute care Oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic The clinic provides emergency care for toothache, dental trauma, swelling, inflammation, infections and other acute oral and maxillofacial conditions. Patients with acute conditions are registered and informed about the next available appointment time. In acute cases, the full range of care required cannot always be provided on an outpatient basis. After a medical examination and/or initial care, as indicated, the patient may be referred to the Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital for further care. Dental Clinic For adults Emergency dental care for toothache. Root canal treatment is not performed during emergency appointments (appointment with an endodontist required). The dentist on duty accepts patients on a first-come, first-served basis. Closed on Sundays For children Acute care is provided for dental injuries and acute inflammation (dental abscesses or swelling) for children up to 18 years of age. Patients who have started treatment at another clinic must bring a referral from their doctor. Planned manipulations such as dental fillings, aesthetic restorations, extractions of mobile milk teeth are not performed during acute admission. The dentist on duty is available by appointment only.
